This was the first piece of on-air packaging that I created, about a day or so after starting at MTV. It was for the UK Channel, Nothing But Hits is their pop-related music programming.
Being only a day or so into my first job in the industry,
fresh
out of uni (and having just moved to a new city only a few days earlier, still living out of a hotel room), I was stressing out big time and sweating like a mad man at this looming task of a job that I would have to do, and which would be seen by hundreds of thousands of people in the UK.
In hindsight, just 12 months later, I look back and this project and it seems so insignificant and un-intimidating compared to other projects I've worked on since.
It's funny how your persepective changes with just a bit of experience, getting used to working in a stressful
industry.
Anyway, the text in this piece was made and rendered in Maya (because at the time I hadn't taught myself Cinema 4D yet, which we have at work, plus Maya is way better at this kind of rendering), and all the little animated bits were hand ainmated in flash.
May favourite part of this project is probably the little animated upper 3rd elements I did (seen below, bottom).
